Willingcott Valley Guest Reviews
We take great pride in Willingcott Valley Holiday Village and work hard to ensure holiday cottage guests have an enjoyable stay. Our cottage owners and housekeeping team work tirelessly to ensure our self-catering accommodation in Woolacombe is a comfortable base from which to explore North Devon and relax in comfort at the end of a busy day exploring.
During a stay in one of our well-equipped self catering holiday cottages by the coast, guests can enjoy use of our facilities, which include a heated outdoor swimming pool and two children's play areas. We're continually investing in park improvements and are currently undertaken work to improve our club house.
Guests love staying in our holiday homes, with many returning year on year. Check out some of our recent reviews and customers testimonials below, to see for yourself why Willingcott Valley holiday village is the perfect base for your Woolacombe holiday this year.
Excellent responses, speedy and efficient service. Booking the pool with names each time was rather time consuming but worth it as the children really enjoyed it, fantastic additon to the holiday park. Pool was great and house (cottage No.64) was lovely and clean, would definetly go back again.
Very friendly customer service. Great communication before and during our stay. Facilities are great value & provided us with just what we needed to explore North Devon. We loved the location of the cottages; we stayed in cottage No.53. The village felt very safe, friendly and the oudoor pool was a bonus.
The cottage (No.53) was spacious, clean and well-equipped on a pleasant, well-maintained site, which was quiet for the duration of our visit. Willingcott Valley is well-situated for visiting the coast and local towns. We had a very pleasant stay for the reasons indicated above and would hope to return at some time.
Lovely place, we had a great time on our family holiday. Well-appointed holiday cottage (No.37) had everything we needed for a week's stay.
Easy to book cottage No.37 on the website and loads of info.
Easy booking and good communication with reception. Easy cottage access to No.45 Ryders cottage. Overall very good experience.
The accommodation was good at No.70 Pippin Cottage. Very clean and well equipped. If the ensuite had a WC I would give it 5 stars. There were a few niggling items which could have been better like the lock missing on the GF toilet and the water was dangerously hot, but the main grouse I have was the lack of on-site facilities. When arriving at 3pm faced with a 2hr wait to get into our cottage, there was not even a toilet we could use. Even the pool has no toilets. There is no reception, no clubhouse, no shop. I think that should be made clear on the website. Value for money was good. Again, with more facilities I would rate it a 5*.
Site easy to use. No.57 Hop cottage was excellent in all areas except we were disappointed the ensuite facilities didn't have toilets. The whole site is very well kept and is quiet and peaceful. Would book again.
Fabulous place for all the family to be together, very clean, facilities are great, just great. Fantastic - everything you need for a great holiday (Cottage No.64).
Perfect peaceful location, high quality accommodation. Excellent customer service, would stay again. Above average accommodation at No.26 Ducks Cottage, quiet and very suitable.
Spacious clean house, beautiful area close to everything we needed. Just as described and everything ready for us on arrival at No.57 Hop Cottage. The house was beautiful with everything ready for us to enjoy.
Easy to book and good communication throughout. We stayed in No.70 Pippin cottage. The property was well located at edge of the development with uninterrupted views of rolling countryside to the front and side. The site was so peaceful, spacious and tidy, we used the pool three times during our stay which was lovely. The house itself was well decorated and well-appointed with dishwasher, washing machine, and two en-suite shower rooms as well as a family bathroom. Location was excellent close to Woolacombe, Croyde, and Saunton Sands. We had great weather and a fabulous time visiting local beaches and countryside- north Devon is so beautiful. Would definitely stay at Willingcott again.
An excellent place for anyone wanting a quiet holiday. Our kids loved the play areas, pool and feeding the ducks. A great base to visit Woolacombe and the surrounding area. We will be back definitely. (No.65 Serenity Cottage).
Such a lovely peaceful location and a perfect cottage No.53. Clean, well situated and fulfilled all our needs. Close to all the key places to visit. Cottage has a new bathroom and tv since our visit last year. Lovely relaxing break in a great little cottage.
4 Stars! The website was clear and it was easy to book. It was also easy to find out more about facilities in the cottage via email. Also, a member of staff, Sarah, contacted me by phone as they were unsure that I was receiving the emails from them. A comfortable cottage with internet (Ducks Cottage). The location was lovely just by the duck pond and views from the lounge, which was upstairs, were great. The welcome pack of milk, tea, sugar and coffee and biscuits was very welcome. The cottage had a dishwasher in the kitchen but no washing machine. This was fine for us as just a couple but a family staying in this three-bedroom property might find it a limitation.
4 Stars! Website good although did booking by telephone. Good basic accommodation (Cottage No.53), clean lovely area quiet.
4 Stars! Easy to book, great location to visit North Devon beaches. Good facilities, outside seating needed at each cottage.
5 Stars! Excellent communication whilst planning and during holiday; rapid resolution of our sole issue (broken microwave). Quiet location (apart from the ducks); property was very well equipped and comfortable - Just what we were aiming for!
4 Stars! Cottage No.53, a very nice house needing a little TLC. Problems with TV on and off during the week. Working when we left.
5 Stars! A very well-presented website with attractive pictures and good-sized font with easy to find section headers making it easy to navigate. Very easy to book a property. The site was very pleasant and spacious with plenty of grass and parking. You felt very safe there and it was quiet and tranquil. The pool was nice and actually good that you could book it for a private session with just your family/group.
4 Stars! Booking was easy and very smooth. Website accurate. Cottage No.37, clean and well equipped.
5 Stars! Simple and quick. No.57 Cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. Would have liked more water-pressure in the two en-suites and a shower curtain for the one over the bath. The village was in an excellent location and was very well maintained. We’ll be back!
5 Stars! The website is well set out with all the information we required to confidently book a stay. Further communication after booking was great. We stayed at 45 Ryders Cottage in August. Sadly, the weather wasn't great, but thankfully the cottage was. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children and the cottage was brilliantly set up and equipped for us and we had a great stay. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Willingcott to others. A lovely and quiet setting, but well placed for exploring the local area.
5 Stars! Easy to book. Quiet, spacious site. Well-equipped accommodation (Cottage No.64). Pool a highlight for the children. Spacious, clean, nice welcoming touches. Enjoyed the biscuits.
5 Stars! Great location, grounds and nice clean accommodation. Booked last minute following a cancellation. All arranged very quickly and were able to agree flexibility on dates. Lots of information available on booking including pool booking system. No.42 ‘Forget me Not’ cottage was nice and clean and location fantastic. Grounds were very nice and quiet but still had a holiday residency feel. Had a great time with the family. Would definitely return.
5 Stars! The website was very easy to navigate and book. All information was clear and informative. Shame we couldn’t use cottage in the end as my wife was sick on the day, we were due to arrive. These people managed to resell the cottage and gave us all our money back. No trying to give vouchers or anything else. Highly recommend. Told them at 9am on day of arrival. They re-advertised the cottage immediately and someone rented it so they gave us all our money back. No hassle of having to take vouchers or loss of money. Truly an amazing customer experience. I have rebooked for 2022 they deserve our business. Thank you.
5 Stars! Great place, nice and quiet in an ideal location near the beaches. Very easy to book. Great location nice and quiet swimming pool heated with nice accommodation had loads of room (No.57 Hop Cottage).
5 Stars! Another amazing week at 64 cottage. We came here last year and had a wonderful week so re-booked straight away for this year. The cottage had everything we needed as a family and was fully equipped, very clean and tidy. We were very lucky this year to be able to use the pool and the children loved if! And the adults too! The whole area is very peaceful and safe for the children, no noise or light pollution and we even saw the milky way one beautiful night. A perfect family holiday in a perfect location. A personal thank you to the family who No.64 cottage belongs to for allowing us a wonderful holiday and to the team at Willingcott Valley who made it possible with all their hard work. We have booked again for next year, unfortunately the week we wanted had already been booked so we have booked the other 4-bedroom cottage which we are very looking forward too! Absolutely wonderful! Cottage No.64 is a super family cottage!
5 Stars! Easy to use Website. Great cottage and fab location on site.
5 Stars! Easy to use and well laid out this is our 3rd cottage there and by far the best so far. Cottage No.37 was clean and well laid out. Thank you for all your efforts.
5 Stars! Clean unit (Cottage No.53). Each unit positioned discreetly with wonderful views of the Devon countryside. Good position offering a good choice of seaside beaches. Good value in the light of staycations and peak holiday season.
5 Stars! Perfect! Easy to book, good communication. Superb place to stay. We didn’t want to leave! Ryders Cottage is spacious, well equipped and clean! Easy to book, good communication. Superb place to stay. We didn’t want to leave!
5 Stars! We had amazing time, house is very comfortable and well-equipped welcome pack. Sarah answered immediately all my question by the time of the booking, was excellent service and help. We had an amazing time. No.45 Ryders’s cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, the welcome pack is very good and thoughtful! Beds are very comfortable and nice linen. I enjoy the pool also at perfect temperature. Sarah was amazing host, quick response always and amazing adviser in everything we have asked for.
5 Stars! Website ok. Easy to book. Kept informed about everything prior to visit. Could not fault No.57 Hop Cottage.
5 Stars! No.45 Ryders Cottage was clean and tidy. Staff responsive to messages and we were able to check in a little early. Good communication. We stayed at number 45, four bedrooms and very spacious. Easy booking system for the pool but unfortunately the bar area was not open. Great location to visit the surrounding area. Walking distance to Fortescue Arms down a gravel lane took approx. 15 mins. We did the Tarka trail prior to check in so not to waste the day. Woolacombe beach is by far the nicest. Saunton Sands is very windy but still nice. Coombe Martin is a lovely cove perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding plus it’s a great place for crabbing. We hired 3 paddle boards for 3 hrs and swapped them between our group which was cheaper than hiring individually. The boat trip from Ilfracombe was great, we got to see porpoises and sea lions, the info on board was great. Washing machine and dishwasher at the property. Fully equipped kitchen with full size fridge and freezer. Hand soap and other basics all supplied which is great. Would definitely stay there again!
5 Stars! The whole place is wonderful. My young family, parents and brother have enjoyed yet another fab week in these cottages. Really nice place to rest, relax and recharge!
5 Stars! Great little place (Cottage No.65). Lovely and peaceful spot, but a short hop to the great beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde. The site is a nice space to get away, with nice facilities and safe play areas for the kids. Highly recommended.
5 Stars! Lovely, clean cottage (No.26 Ducks Cottage), with everything needed for a relaxing break. I would definitely recommend.
5 Stars! We stayed at No. 64 for a week and have nothing but positive things to say about the cottage and experience. The staff were great to deal with and came back to queries promptly when booking, the cottage was clean and comfortable and a great base to discover the area. Cottage is right opposite the duck pond which delighted my little boy every morning when Mummy Duck and her ducklings came to the door to say “Hi”. Sadly, the pool was closed due to Covid restrictions but the play areas are great. We would recommend and stay again.
5 Stars! Cottage No.53 was easy to book, accurate property details and easy booking process, lots of information provided. We did have some issues with the TV but the team were easy to contact and quick to resolve. Pre-information was really useful about welcome pack and most importantly which supermarkets delivered and that got our holiday off to a great start. Also contacted week before with earlier arrival time which we appreciated.
Lovely stay - great location pretty scenery around site, quiet and peaceful with good wildlife. Close access to beaches and days out. The cottage was super clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Was nervous and excited as first break for so long due to covid – but soon settled into it.
5 Stars! Great short break base with great location, quaint cottage (No.26 Ducks Cottage) with all the right facilities. Highly recommend.
5 Stars! Lovely clean cosy cottage with great views in perfect location! No.26 Ducks Cottage is so lovely, we completely relaxed there and switched off from our busy working lives! The PERFECT place to escape to and enjoy the wonders of the North Devon coast. The cottage was very clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for a self-catering holiday cottage. We loved waking up to the views across the pond and wondering what wildlife would be visiting that day! The location is perfect for visiting Woolacombe, Croyde, Ilfracombe and Saunton all just a very short drive away. Will definitely book again!
5 Stars! Cottage No.53. Easy to book, useful information provided before our trip, lovely cottage. A great holiday! Great cottage - had everything we needed, and lovely site, quite, and safe for our kids to play out.
Thank you, we were very pleased with everything. The cottage was very comfortable and warm. We were in 57 Hop Cottage, we changed with my son, please tell the owners we thought the cottage was a very high standard and would be delighted to stay there again. Thank you and especially to Sarah at Willingcott Valley who was very helpful.

Changed date of holiday with ease. Good liaison from booking to going on holiday. Cottage No.53 Willingcott Valley was clean, very well appointed and comfortable. Perfect for our holiday needs. The holiday village was well tended and provided a venue for a peaceful and relaxing break.
Excellent Customer service from the Agent and owner of No.26 Ducks Cottage. The service provided was excellent. Any queries we had regarding the cottage and area were answered in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Ducks cottage, a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Perfect setting for a family holiday and in a great location. The cottage was perfect for our family holiday. Great house (No.57), in a great location! It's possible to walk into Woolacombe, with just a few minutes on the road before you get to a path.! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely try and book with you if we visit Woolacombe again. Very clean, easy check-in - the host text us to say the house was ready early which was really appreciated and helped hugely! Highly recommended.
Booking was dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner. Clear communication about arrival and what was on offer in the area. Pleasant, peaceful and spacious site. Well-equipped cottage (No.64 Willingcott Valley), and the welcome pack was appreciated. Easy access to local beaches.
A bit tired but a lovely quiet location. Easy to book and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean cottage (No53)... the location was lovely and quiet, easy to park etc and enjoyed being close to the Tarka Trail. Pity the pool wasn’t open. Despite all of this I would come back again.
An amazing week! Can't wait to return. We have just had a wonderful week in Woolacombe! The cottage was so easy to book online and the website was very easy to use. We wouldn't of changed a thing about the 64 cottage we stayed in and can't for next year! As we have booked already! Thank you, Willingcott Valley! The cottage was wonderful. There was everything we needed for our young family. I could not fault it at all. It was clean, tidy, and fully equipped. Felt like home from home.
Cosy and clean cottage in peaceful surroundings. Perfect holiday home! The website is very easy to use, photos are a true representation of the cottages. Instant confirmation and good response online. Immaculately clean cottage (No.45), in a peaceful and quiet setting only a short drive away from the beach. The surroundings are kept very clean and well maintained. The cottage was very well equipped - it had everything you’ll need. Big airy rooms, very comfortable beds with ensuite bathrooms, toilet downstairs and family bathroom with a bathtub.
Fantastic cottage, highly recommend. Easy to book, good info sent. Would book again. The cottage (No.53), was one of the best we've stayed at (2 adults and children aged 3 and 6). Everything we needed in the kitchen, good quality comfortable beds (including a king size) and plenty of bathrooms. En suite extra shower was great and water pressure good. Nice big towels really added the home from home feeling. Shame the pool was closed this season but of course we understand and just went in the sea at nearby Woolacombe instead. Would highly recommend.

We've had a wonderful relaxing week in beautiful weather in your lovely cottage (No.57). So peaceful, the loudest noise is the birdsong! Thoroughly enjoyed a day trip to Lundy Island, a unique place. If you are feeling energetic, rent a bike and ride the Tarka Trail to Torrington. Beautiful coastal and woodland track on the old railway, so no big hills! Love ND, Love the house, Love the setting.
