Easter Events in North Devon 2023

We highly recommend a family holiday in Woolacombe if you’re looking to make the most of the various Easter Events in North Devon this year. Attractions and activity providers across the region are gearing up to host unmissable Easter themed events that we guarantee your little ones will love!

Here we’ve compiled a list of just some of our Easter events near Woolacombe to check out during your stay in one of our cosy self-catering cottages at Willingcott Valley Holiday Village.
 

Woolacombe Dunes Easter Activity Trail

(1st – 16th April 2023)
Woolacombe Beach

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 3 miles

Visit the Tourist Information Centre between 10am and 3.30pm to pick up an Easter Activity Trail Map. Then head over to the dunes to start the route, where you’ll need to work together to complete a series of fun activities and challenges to win a chocolatey prize. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful views across Woolacombe beach whilst spending quality family time together. Once you’ve finished, head back to the TIC, where you’ll be rewarded with your sweet treat.

Tourist info closes at 5pm. £3 per entry.


Willow Bunny Workshop

Quince Honey Farm

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 24 miles

If you’re looking for a unique activity to try this Easter, we highly recommend reserving your spot on the Willow Bunny Workshop at Quince Honey Farm. During the full day session, you’ll learn the skills needed to craft your own sculpture to take home. If looked after properly, the willow bunny will look great in your garden for years to come.

We think this fun craft session is a fantastic option for guests staying at Willingcott Valley. What a lovely memento to take home and remind you of your holiday in North Devon.

Tickets cost £70 and include a tasty ploughman’s lunch, a hot drink and 10% off the on-site shop.


Easter Egg Hunt

(1st April – 16th April 2023)
Arlington Court

The Easter Egg Hunt at Arlington Court is one of our favourite Easter Events in North Devon. It’s great fun for all the family and a wonderful way to spend time in the great outdoors. Pop into reception and follow the trail around the beautiful grounds, completing nature themed activities as you go. All children will receive a chocolate egg at the end of the trail as well as a leaf label to hang on a tree. This is so that children can write a nature pledge.

During your visit, take time to explore the wider grounds. This National Trust owned property is home to a vast collection of treasures from all over the world. Outside there is a beautiful lake, immaculately maintained gardens and an abundance of native wildlife living within the grounds.

The trail costs £3 per child.


Easter Family Fun

(5th – 15th April 2023)
Mortehoe Museum,

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 3 miles

If you’re looking for wholesome family fun, we highly recommend a trip to Mortehoe Museum this spring. During the Easter holidays, this tiny museum will be hosting a variety of traditional Easter activities, including guess the name of the Easter bunny and guess how many eggs are in the jar. There’s also an Easter raffle and Easter themed trail around Mortehoe Village, where young explorers will have to search out hidden clues.

The museum is only small, but it’s jam packed with information about the local area. During a visit you’ll learn more about the various industries that supported the village in bygone times. There’s also interesting exhibits on ship wrecks and military training programmes.


Find the Easter Chicks

(7th – 10th April 2023)
Clovelly

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 30 miles

We highly recommend a trip to Clovelly Village if you’re looking for Easter activities for the family. Every year Easter chicks are hidden along the cobbled high street and down to the harbour for children to find.

When you arrive at the village head to the tourist information centre to pick up a map. Once you’ve found 10 chicks return to the visitor centre to claim your prize.


Craft Market

(10th April 2023)
Woolacombe Village Hall

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 3 miles

There will be a pop-up craft market in Woolacombe Village Hall on Easter Monday. Here you’ll find a selection of artwork from local makers, showcasing the works of talented artists from across Devon. Treat yourself to something special to commemorate your Woolacombe holiday.


Easter Fun on the Farm

(28th March – 15th April 2023)
The Big Sheep

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 20 miles

A trip to The Big Sheep is an absolute must during an Easter holiday in North Devon. This popular family fun park plays host to a variety of Easter themed events throughout the school holidays that are guaranteed to keep younger members of the family entertained.

During a visit you can feed the lambs, meet the Easter bunny, pedalo on the lake, watch live shows and even ride a rollercoaster. There’s also an Easter Egg hunt around the farm. You’ll need to find hidden letters and rearrange them to create a word for your chance to win a prize. You can even enter a prize draw to win your child’s height in books!


The Giant Easter Egg Hunt 

(1st – 17th April 2023)
RHS Garden Rosemoor

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 22 miles

Throughout the Easter holidays Rosemoor will be hosting a Giant Easter Egg Hunt Event. Spend a fun-filled morning searching for eggs hidden around the gardens to win a chocolate prize. The giant eggs are decorating with beautiful spring wildlife and flower designs. The Easter bunny will be visiting on select days throughout the easter holidays.

This is a great activity if you’re looking to get the kids outside and into the fresh air!


Dino Easter Egg Hunt

(27th March – 16th April 2023)
Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park

Distance from Willingcott Valley: 10 miles

Little ones will love the Dino Easter Egg Hunt at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. Spend the day here admiring the animal enclosures and learning facts about animals from all over the world. Make sure your eyes peeled for dino eggs as you make your way around the park. There are 10 eggs to find to win a prize!

Every day there will be fun and informative animal talks from the experienced keepers, where you can find out more about lemurs, wolfs, meerkats and more. The T-Rex and his dinosaur friends wakes up every hour, on the hour. Go and see them if you’re feeling brave!
