The National Trust Carriage Museum

The estate at Arlington is home to the National Trust's collection of historic horse-drawn carriages. With over 40 carriages in the museum, there's a wide variety of styles on display. The house at Arlington

Arlington Court was built around 1820 by local Devon architect Thomas Lee. The house was owned by the Chichester family for many years with their legacy very much a part of the decor and throughout the property. The interior of the house is jam-packed with period furniture and items owned by the Chichester family.

The grounds

The estate at Arlington covers a considerable area which spans 2700 acres. Included within the grounds are a Victorian garden and a walled kitchen garden – all look beautiful whatever time of year you choose to visit.

For something a little unusual, there are even horse-drawn carriage rides which can be booked and provide a perfect way to explore the impressive grounds at Arlington.
