Christmas Events in Woolacombe and North Devon

There’s no dispute that Woolacombe makes for a superb family holiday destination during the summer. However, North Devon also plays host to a number of festive events that take place in the winter months. Lacking some of the bustling crowds and holidaymakers that you might find during the summertime, this is a chance to appreciate a quieter side to the area.

A wonderful time to enjoy a Christmas market, a windswept winter walk on the coastal path, followed by a traditional pub. Having a cosy holiday cottage near Woolacombe to head back to is the icing on the cake!

The Big Sheep Christmas Market

3rd, 10th, 17th, 22nd December, 9am - 2pm

Arlington Court

North Devon Christmas Market is the biggest event of its kind in Devon. Braunton town centre is transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland in December – with over 150 stalls its a great chance to get hold of some unique Christmas gifts. You can't fail to get into the Christmas spirit as you take in the atmosphere and sample the festive food & drink.

Christmas at the Court

Saturdays & Sundays from 26th November - 18th December 2022
Arlington Court

Visit the former Chichester family home at Arlington Court and see the house dressed for a traditional Victorian Christmas. This event is free, but normal admission and car parking charges apply for non-National Trust members. National Trust members get free entry and free parking.

Clovelly Christmas Lights

4th December
Clovelly

The Christmas lights turn-on is a magical time at Clovelly. Follow a procession down to the harbour with festive carols sung along the way. Food and refreshments are available at the harbour and Lifeboat Station with a surprise visit from Father Christmas himself. At 5pm the lights go on and the entire village and harbour are illuminated, this leads on to the grand finale of fireworks to close the event. All proceeds go to the RNLI.

The Magic of Christmas at The Milky Way

Visit Santa’s Christmas Cottage, journey through the snowy woods, get creative in the Elf Emporium and ride the Festive Train! The Magic of Christmas is coming to the Milky Way on the 10th & 11th and 17th to 23rd December.

A wonderful community christmas event in Woolacombe. Join in with carol singing and see Santa and his elves take part in the children’s treasure hunt with cash prizes to be won!

Santas on the Run North Devon 2022

RMB Chivenor, Barnstaple

Walk, jog or run and take part at RMB Chivenor to complete 2k with your family, friends or work colleagues while enjoying a festive day out to remember.
